Tomorrow’s SC Hearing to Decide Fate of NEET PG 2024 Exam.

The Supreme Court is set to address a plea requesting the postponement of the NEET-PG 2024 examination, scheduled for August 11. The top court has agreed to hear this request tomorrow after it was urgently presented by the petitioner's counsel, Anas Tanvir, before Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

The plea was filed by Vishal Soren, who raised concerns about the allocation of examination cities. According to Soren, many candidates have been assigned cities that are inconvenient for them to reach, which poses a significant challenge given the short notice for making travel arrangements.

The allocation of cities was completed on July 31, but candidates will only learn their specific exam centres today.

Soren’s petition also seeks transparency regarding the normalisation formula used for the four sets of question papers.

The petitioner argues that disclosing this formula is essential to prevent any potential arbitrariness in the examination process. By ensuring that the normalisation method is clear, candidates can be assured that the evaluation will be fair and unbiased.

In light of these concerns, the petitioner has requested that the NEET-PG 2024 be postponed until the Supreme Court makes a decision on the plea. The case will be heard tomorrow, and the court’s ruling could impact the examination schedule and the arrangements for the candidates.
