Jammu and Kashmir police is conducting intensive search operations in Jathana village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district following a tip-off by villagers about six persons in the area who had aroused their suspicions.
Villagers informed local authorities about the six individuals, following which police and Army personnel launched search operations in the village that’s under the Rajbagh police station.
The villagers have also been asked to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
Terrorists attacked an IAF convoy in the Shahistar area of Poonch District earlier on May 4, killing one corporal rank officer and injuring four others.
Soon after the ambush, security forces launched cordon and search operation to track down the terrorists who fled into forests before reinforcements arrived.
Searches had also been conducted from April 29 for terrorists who killed a village defence guard was killed in an armed confrontation in Rajouri district.
However, no contact was established with the terrorists.
