A unique five-day solo art exhibition “Harmony in Hues” by a talented self-taught artist from Shimla, Garima Lohumi, is underway at Gaiety theatre in Shimla.
The exhibition, which will continue till June 11, has caught the attention of locals and tourists alike as it showcases an array of Himalayan-inspired artworks and handcrafted pieces, seamlessly blending creativity with the serene beauty of mountain landscapes.
Specialising in Himalayan landscape paintings, Garima has expanded her artistic expression beyond traditional canvases under her brand, Himalayan Canvas. Visitors can explore a diverse collection, including large canvas paintings capturing the Himalayan region’s seasonal beauty, hand-painted epoxy-coated key rings, fridge magnets, tote bags featuring exclusive art prints, iPhone covers and epoxy-coated wooden wall hangings.
A highlight of the exhibition is her series of paintings displayed in ornate vintage wooden frames, alongside smaller works in modern frames, adding a touch of elegance to her nature-inspired art.
Garima, an MBA and postgraduate in Yoga from the Sivananda Institute, left a corporate career with a multinational company to pursue her passion for art. Her journey as a self-taught artist is remarkable with her Himalayan landscapes earning widespread admiration for their depth and vibrancy. Her works have found patrons both in India and abroad, including Qatar and Canada.
