Soldier injured as terrorists attack Rajouri Army camp

A soldier was injured in a terrorist attack on an Army camp in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, following which intensive search operations were launched to track the attackers. (Source: X).


A soldier was injured on Sunday after a terrorist attack led to exchange of gunfire at an Army camp in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

 

According to reports terrorists fired on a sentry post of Territorial Army at village Galuthi in Manjakote area around 4 am, prompting retaliation by troops.

 

The soldier was injured in the exchange of fire that continued for nearly half-an-hour between the two sides but the terrorists managed to flee into the nearby forest.

 

Search operations have been launched to hunt them down.

 

Terrorist activities have intensified in the area, with two encounters on Saturday leaving two soldiers martyred and four terrorists dead in Kulgam district , officials said.

 

Lance Naik Pradeep Nain, a special forces Para commando lost his life in a gunfight at Modergam village after security personnel launched search operations and traced around three terrorists holed up in one place.

 

Havaldar Raj Kumar of 1st Rashtriya Rifles was killed when terrorists fired upon security forces searching Frisal Chingam village following a tip-off about Lashkar terrorists in the area. 

 

"Encounter started at Modergam Village of #Kulgam District. Police and Security Forces are on work. Further details shall follow," Kashmir Zone Police tweeted on X about the first encounter.

 

One terrorist remains trapped at Frisal Chingam and gunfights were continuing in both villages, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, VK Birdhi said after visiting the sites.
