The Allahabad High Court's recent decision to annul the merit list for the recruitment of 69,000 primary teachers in Uttar Pradesh has been met with approval from various political leaders.
Among them, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav expressed her support for the ruling, emphasising the importance of fairness in the recruitment process.
Dimple Yadav welcomed the court's directive to the state government to prepare a new merit list within three months, ensuring it aligns with the Basic Education Rules and Reservation Guidelines.
She stated that the decision brings hope to many who have been affected by what she described as the ruling party's unfair practices. Yadav highlighted the court's role in ensuring that justice prevails and that the people of Uttar Pradesh would finally receive their due rights. She added that the victory was not just for the aspirants but for the state as well, as it reaffirms faith in the judiciary.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav also responded positively to the High Court's decision, particularly with regard to the reservation demands of the aspirants.
He voiced his concerns about the long struggle these candidates have faced and expressed hope that the government would not further wrong them. Akhilesh Yadav pointed out the significant efforts made by the aspirants in their fight for justice, acknowledging the hardships they endured during their prolonged movement.
The issue surrounding the recruitment process dates back to December 2018 when the initial advertisement for the 69,000 primary teachers was released.
The High Court's decision is expected to have far-reaching implications for the ongoing assistant teacher recruitment process in Uttar Pradesh.
This ruling is seen as a critical step towards rectifying the issues within the recruitment system and ensuring that all candidates are treated fairly, especially those who have been advocating for their reservation rights.
