A special court for MPs and MLAs has issued an arrest warrant against JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna in a sexual assault case. The warrant, issued on Saturday, pertains to a case in which Prajwal's father, Holenarasipura MLA H D Revanna, is also an accused.
Prajwal, son of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, had previously spent seven days in jail and was on bail following a four-day police custody for allegedly kidnapping a woman. He is now implicated in three sexual assault cases filed by three different women.
Interpol has issued a blue corner notice against Prajwal, who remains at large. The situation escalated after numerous explicit videos allegedly showing Prajwal sexually assaulting women were made public.
In response, the Karnataka government formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate Prajwal's alleged crimes against women, following recommendations from Karnataka State Commission for Women chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdhary.
