SpiceJet announced on Monday the introduction of special daily non-stop flights connecting Ayodhya with Delhi, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Hyderabad, starting October 8, according to an official press release. These flights, set to commence in a phased manner, aim to provide seamless access for devotees and tourists visiting the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya during the auspicious Diwali festival.
The airline is also considering adding flights from Mumbai to further enhance connectivity during the festive and winter seasons, reinforcing its commitment to making travel convenient, affordable, and accessible.
Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, emphasised the significance of the new routes, stating, “There could be no better occasion than Diwali to visit Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram. We are delighted to make travel to the holy city easier and more convenient for devotees and tourists alike. Our new daily flights from key metros will ensure smooth and affordable access to Ayodhya during Diwali, allowing passengers to celebrate the festival in its most divine setting.” The addition of these routes strengthens SpiceJet’s domestic network, catering to the spiritual and cultural aspirations of travellers during the festive season.
In a related development, on September 29, SpiceJet announced the launch of daily non-stop flights to Phuket, Thailand’s largest and most popular island, marking its second destination in Thailand after Bangkok. Flights from Delhi to Phuket are scheduled to begin on October 31, while services from Mumbai will commence on November 6.
