Arunachal Pradesh hosted the standing committee meeting of state Public Service Commission (PSC) chairpersons for the first time on Saturday, with a session held in the scenic Ziro Valley, Lower Subansiri district. The gathering aimed at enhancing transparency, efficiency, and inter-state coordination in public service recruitment.
The meeting brought together PSC chiefs from Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana, along with Union Public Service Commission member Dinesh Dasa representing the UPSC chairman. Prof Pradip Lingfa, chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh PSC, presided over the session and presented the state’s roadmap for reforms, including the integration of information technology in examinations and recruitment processes. He emphasised that these initiatives aim to make public service recruitment “more transparent, efficient, and people-friendly.”
The discussions also focused on addressing challenges in conducting free, fair, and merit-based recruitment examinations across the country. The last standing committee meet was held in Chennai in April 2025, where Arunachal was chosen as the next host, a significant recognition for the northeastern state, highlighting its growing role in national governance and administrative reforms.
