A total of 46 detonators, Maoist literature and uniforms belonging to the red rebels were recovered from a forested area in Bihar’s Jamui district on Monday, an official statement said.
The seizures were made in Pachkatia forest during a joint operation carried out by the Special Task Force (STF) and the district police, according to the STF statement.
Acting on a tip-off, STF personnel along with district police launched a search operation in the Pachkatia forest under Chahara police station limits. During the sweep, they found 46 detonators, Naxal literature and rebel uniforms hidden by the Maoists.
A case has been registered and further investigation is under way, the statement added.
In a separate action, the STF and Purnea district police arrested an alleged arms dealer in a joint operation on Sunday. The accused, identified as Kunal Kumar, was apprehended from Kehaat area in Purnea district.
Authorities seized a German-made pistol, a rotating bolt of an AK-47 assault rifle and 440 cartridges of various pistols and rifles from his possession, the STF said.
Further investigation into both cases is ongoing.
