In a display of devotion and celestial alignment, the Ram Temple in Ayodhya celebrated Ram Navami by adorning the forehead of the idol Ram Lalla with a 'Surya Tilak,' a beam of sunlight directed through a series of mirrors and lenses. This unique event, orchestrated at precisely noon, lasted for three minutes, marking a historic moment for devotees.

The intricate arrangement involved a team of scientists who meticulously positioned the optical devices to capture and direct the sunlight onto the idol's forehead. This scientific intervention added a modern twist to the traditional festivities and highlighted the temple's architectural features designed to honour celestial phenomena.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi referenced this auspicious occasion during his rally in Nalbari, Assam, emphasising the significance of the day and the continuation of cultural heritage with the recent installation of the idol in the grand temple. His remarks resonated with the theme of renewal and celebration that Ram Navami embodies.

The atmosphere in Ayodhya was electric as devotees participated in the celebrations, which started early at 3:30 am with special prayers and the opening of the temple doors. The air filled with chants of 'Jai Shri Ram,' and the temple premises echoed with songs and dances by the gathered crowds, intensifying the spiritual ambiance.

Adding to the religious fervour, the temple conducted a special offering of '56 types of bhog' along with 'panjiri,' a traditional sweet, making the occasion a grand culinary feast as well. Acharya Satyendra Das, the Chief Priest of Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, shared details about the special arrangements and offerings prepared for the deity, dressed in ceremonial yellow for the day.

Devotees also engaged in a ritual bath in the Saryu River, reinforcing their spiritual journey and purification before participating in the temple ceremonies. The entire event was not only a local spectacle but also reached a global audience through broadcasts on LED screens across the city and live streams on social media platforms managed by the temple trust.
