In a major counter-terror operation, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, with the support of Jharkhand ATS and Ranchi Police, arrested a suspected ISIS operative from Islam Nagar in Ranchi late Monday night.
The accused, identified as Ashhar Danish, had been residing for several days at Tabarak Lodge, Room No. 4, where he had allegedly set up a temporary hideout.
During the raid, police reportedly recovered chemicals, weapons and other suspicious materials from his possession. Following his arrest, Danish has been taken into custody by the Delhi Police team and will be produced in a Delhi court after being remanded.
According to sources, Danish is originally from the Petarwar area in Bokaro district. His name surfaced in a case registered earlier in Delhi, after which the Special Cell had been tracking him for several months.

Acting on intelligence inputs about his presence in Ranchi, the joint team launched the raid and successfully apprehended him.
Officials revealed that Danish is suspected to have links with the banned terrorist outfit ISIS. Investigators are now interrogating him to uncover details of his activities, contacts and potential sleeper cells operating in Jharkhand and other states.
In a parallel development, the Special Cell and Jharkhand ATS also conducted raids in Palamu district, where another individual has been detained for questioning. His role and possible links to Danish or the wider terror module are being verified.
Security agencies are treating the case with utmost seriousness, given the materials seized and Danish’s alleged association with ISIS. Further arrests and raids in connection with this operation have not been ruled out.
