A Toyota Fortuner SUV reportedly belonging to the convoy of BJP's Kaiserganj Lok Sabha candidate Karan Bhushan Singh, son of former wrestling chief and six-time MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, hit a motorcycle in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda, killing the bikers and injuring a woman, media reports say.

The SUV was reportedly registered in the name of an educational institute run by the family of Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was last year accused of  sexually harassing women wrestlers and dropped as a candidate in the Lok Sabha elections with his son nominated instead.

Kernalganj SHO Nirbhay Narayan Singh told PTI that  Rehan Khan (17) and Shehzad Khan (20) were on a motorcycle which was hit by the vehicle near a school. Both died on the spot and another 60-year-old woman was injured.

In an FIR registered on the complaint of Chanda Begum, Rehan, her son, and nephew Shahzad had left home on the motorcycle to buy medicines at 9 am when the speeding SUV collided with them, killing them on the spot.

The injured woman, Sita Devi, has been hospitalised.

As protesting family members joined crowds at the accident spot demanding justice police arrested the SUV driver, Luvkush Srivastava, and seized the vehicle.

Relatives of the deceased told news agencies that by  the time they were informed about the accident and reached the spot the bodies had been taken to hospital. Quoting witnesses, they said five to six cars in Karan Bhushan Singh's convoy were passing by when the Fortuner hit the motorcycle

Police personnel have been deployed in the area to ensure law and order.

It is yet to be confirmed if Karan Bhushan Singh was travelling with the convoy when the accident occurred.
