Swati Maliwal protests Delhi garbage crisis at CM house.

Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal staged a dramatic protest in Delhi, targeting Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over the deteriorating cleanliness and infrastructure in the city.

She collected garbage from a dump in Vikaspuri and dumped it outside Kejriwal’s residence to highlight the worsening condition of public spaces.

Maliwal, who visited the Vikaspuri area with local residents, said that people had repeatedly complained about unclean surroundings and overflowing drains, but no action was taken. She criticised Kejriwal, saying that he had distanced himself from the city’s real issues.

During her visit, Maliwal spoke to women who had been raising concerns about the garbage problem in their locality. She accused the government of neglecting public hygiene and failing to address basic civic issues.

According to her, Delhi’s streets were filled with dirt, roads were in poor condition, and drains were overflowing, making life difficult for residents.

Maliwal’s protest came just days before the Delhi elections, adding a political dimension to her act. She insisted that her protest was not against any particular party but was meant to draw attention to the worsening state of cleanliness in the capital.

She pointed out that while Kejriwal once called himself a leader of the common people, he had now become distant from the city’s struggles.

Her remarks also touched upon broader concerns about governance and accountability. She questioned why basic sanitation and maintenance had been ignored despite repeated public complaints.

By personally bringing the garbage to Kejriwal’s doorstep, she aimed to send a strong message about the neglect that Delhi’s citizens were facing.

The incident has sparked political debate, with AAP leaders yet to respond to Maliwal’s protest. However, her actions have amplified discussions about Delhi’s sanitation crisis and the government’s role in addressing it.

As the election date nears, this protest could influence the public’s perception of AAP’s governance.
