Nara Lokesh Secures Rs 42 Crore Insurance for TDP Workers.

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has made a significant stride in securing the welfare of its members by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with insurance companies, providing insurance coverage for its one crore activists.

This groundbreaking initiative was formalised by Nara Lokesh, the national general secretary of the TDP and the Minister for Education, on Thursday.

The agreement, made with representatives from United India Insurance and Pragmatic Insurance Broking Services, marks a historic moment, as the TDP becomes the first political party in the country to offer such comprehensive insurance coverage to its members.

The party has already paid a premium of Rs 42 crore to ensure that each of its activists is covered for the year 2025, from January 1 to December 31. This amount will be maintained annually, ensuring continued protection for the party's workers.

Under this MoU, each party member will be entitled to accidental insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh, offering vital financial security in case of unforeseen events.

Nara Lokesh has consistently taken progressive steps to improve the welfare of party workers. His leadership has seen the party invest a remarkable Rs 138 crore in initiatives aimed at supporting its cadre.

One of the key moves has been the establishment of a legal wing dedicated to supporting TDP activists involved in legal battles stemming from the previous YSRCP government's actions.

This is part of Lokesh's broader efforts to ensure justice and protection for the party’s members, particularly those who have faced challenges under past administrations.

Additionally, the TDP has set up a specialised cell at the party's central office to provide immediate assistance to any members who are involved in accidents. This cell is part of the party's wider commitment to ensuring that its activists are cared for in times of need.

The TDP has also taken steps to support the children of deceased party members by setting up residential schools in Hyderabad and Challapalli, Krishna district, under the NTR Trust. These schools will offer free education to the children of those who have tragically lost their lives while serving the party.
