Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Monday that as long as the Modi government is at the Centre, no power can revive terrorism in the Jammu region on the lines of the 1990s.

He said the BJP government will bury terrorism so deep that it will never resurface again, in the terror-infested Jammu region, which has recently witnessed a spurt in terror attacks.

Addressing a massive rally in the Padder-Nagseni Assembly constituency of the Kishtwar area, he warned those trying to revive terrorism like the ‘90s in Jammu region, saying, “Let me assure you that we will push the terrorism several feet below the ground so that it doesn’t erupt again.”

Launching a scathing attack at National Conference chief Dr Farooq Abdullah, Shah asked: “Where was he when bloodbath was at its peak in Kishtwar?

“He should be made answerable if he comes here, but I know he was enjoying the London beaches while people were being killed here,” Shah said.

He accused the NC-Congress alliance of setting the base for terrorism and separatism in J&K ever since they joined hands.

“These two parties pushed Maharaja Hari Singh out of the state. Later, only his mortal remains returned to J&K,” Shah said. “These parties are responsible for the mass exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990.”

This was the second visit of the Home Minister to the region within 10 days. He said no one will be allowed to use Indian soil for terrorism.

About Article 370, Shah said there is no place for Article 370 in the Indian Constitution. This article has become an old chapter of India’s history.

When asked if people were willing to give a mandate to NC-Congress, the BJP workers shouted “No.” “I want to inform Congress and NC that neither Article 370 nor terrorism will return,” he said.

Also taking a jibe at NC leader Omar Abdullah, Shah said earlier he said he wasn’t contesting, but now he is contesting on two seats; this shows that he has accepted defeat.

“Let me tell you are not winning from either of the two seats,” he said.
