Famous for his aggressive stance on issues concerning youth, Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM) legislator Jairam Mahto today raised the issue of the JSSC CGL examination and demanded that the government address the students’ concerns through discussions on the matter.
Delivering his first speech in the Jharkhand Assembly while congratulating the newly elected Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto, Jairam stated that the youth have high expectations from the government, which should take the issue of employment very seriously.
Earlier, on the second day of the Special Session, the proceedings of the House began with the election of the Speaker. Rabindra Nath Mahto was unanimously re-elected as the Speaker of the House for the second consecutive time.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren made the first proposal, while senior leaders including Saryu Roy, Janardan Paswan, Arup Chatterjee, Rameshwar Oraon, Jairam Mahto, and others also supported his candidature for the post.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren and BJP leader Babulal Marandi escorted Rabindra Nath Mahto to the chair after he was elected as the Speaker.
Soren first congratulated the new Speaker, stating that the House operates without discrimination. He added that the House functioned successfully under Rabindra Nath Mahto’s chairmanship during the fifth Jharkhand Legislative Assembly.
Soren emphasised that both the ruling party and the opposition play a crucial role in the state’s development, and the mandate given by the people during the elections should be respected.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radhakrishna Kishore assured the full support of the House. Babulal Marandi requested that time be allocated to the new MLAs in the House and urged attention to the opposition’s demands.
