Indian security agencies have achieved a significant breakthrough by arresting two of the country's most wanted gangsters who had been operating from abroad. Officials from the Haryana Police, along with other security agencies, successfully apprehended Venkatesh Garg in Georgia and Bhanu Rana in the United States.

Both individuals are expected to be deported to India in the near future. At present, more than two dozen major Indian gangsters remain outside the country, where they continue to recruit new members and orchestrate criminal syndicates remotely.

The coordinated operations that led to the arrests of Garg and Rana have uncovered vital details about their methods of operation and criminal activities. Venkatesh Garg, a resident of Narayangarh in Haryana, had been living in Georgia after fleeing India. He faces more than ten criminal cases registered against him in the country.

Garg had been actively recruiting young men from Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and several other states in northern India to expand his network. He escaped to Georgia following his involvement in the murder of a prominent Bahujan Samaj Party leader in Gurugram.

From abroad, Garg continued to run a large-scale extortion syndicate in collaboration with Kapil Sangwan, another notorious gangster currently based overseas. Just last October, the Delhi Police arrested four shooters belonging to Sangwan's group who had carried out attacks on the residence and farmhouse of a local builder.

In a parallel development, Bhanu Rana, who has strong ties to the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was arrested in the United States, where he had been residing for an extended period. Originally from Karnal in Haryana, Rana has a long history in the criminal underworld, with multiple cases filed against him. His criminal network spans across Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi, enabling him to coordinate illegal activities across state borders. Rana's name emerged during investigations into a grenade attack in Punjab.

Earlier this year, in June, the Special Task Force of Karnal arrested two individuals who were found in possession of hand grenades, pistols, and a substantial quantity of ammunition. These men were operating directly under Rana's instructions, highlighting his continued influence over violent operations even while living abroad.

The arrests of Garg and Rana mark a major blow to the transnational criminal networks that have plagued northern India, demonstrating the growing effectiveness of international cooperation in bringing fugitive gangsters to justice.
