Pune Police Arrest Two for Tampering with Porsche Crash Evidence.

In a significant development in the 'Pune Porsche crash' case, Pune police have arrested two individuals for allegedly tampering with blood samples. The arrests were made on Monday night by the Pune crime branch, as announced by Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar.

The arrested individuals are accused of swapping the blood samples of two friends of the minor accused, who were present in the Porsche during the fatal accident. The case will be brought before the court for remand on Tuesday, and further investigations are ongoing.

Details on the situation are still emerging.

The case stems from an incident on May 19, when a Porsche, reportedly driven by a minor under the influence, struck two IT professionals in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune, resulting in their deaths. The involvement of the minor and the subsequent actions taken by those connected to the case have led to considerable public outrage.

Previously, in July, the Pune crime branch had registered a case against the parents of the minor accused, along with doctors from Sassoon Hospital and two others. They face charges of conspiring to tamper with evidence and manipulating blood samples related to the case.

The minor involved in the accident had been granted bail by the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) under unusually lenient conditions, which included writing a 300-word essay on road safety.

This decision led to nationwide criticism, prompting the Women and Child Development Department to set up a panel to review the JJB's conduct in this case.

The crash, which occurred on the night of May 19, involved the minor driving the Porsche into two IT professionals on a motorcycle, killing them instantly. In response to the public outcry, the Pune police have filed a comprehensive 900-page chargesheet against seven individuals, including the minor's parents.
