Farmers from Uttar Pradesh will hold a protest march today from Noida to the Parliament complex in Delhi to press for their five key demands regarding compensation and benefits under new agricultural laws.
The protest has led to heightened security, including barricades and route diversions in Delhi-NCR.
The farmers are demanding 10 per cent land allocation and 64.7 per cent higher compensation under the old acquisition law, which should be four times the market rate. They also want 20 per cent land allocation for plots acquired after January 1, 2014.
Additionally, they are calling for employment and rehabilitation benefits for children of landless farmers, as well as proper settlement of populated areas and government action on the issues discussed by the High Power Committee.
The farmers, led by BKP leader Sukhbir Khalifa, will start their protest at 12 pm near the Mahamaya Flyover in Noida and march towards Delhi on foot and tractors.
Farmers from 20 districts, including Gautam Buddh Nagar, Agra, Aligarh, and Bulandshahr, are expected to participate.

Security Measures
To prevent the farmers from entering Delhi, the Delhi and Gautam Buddh Nagar police have set up barricades at the Noida-Delhi border. They are conducting intensive vehicle checks, leading to heavy traffic at locations like the DND Flyway and Chilla Border.
Police have advised using the metro to avoid traffic congestion.
Over 4,000 police personnel have been deployed, and some farmer leaders have been detained. The police have made it clear they will not allow the farmers to reach Delhi.
The entry of goods vehicles from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway has been banned.
