US crackdown: 119 deported Indians return home.

A US military aircraft carrying 119 deported Indian nationals landed in Amritsar late on Saturday night, marking the second batch of repatriations in recent days.

The deportees, primarily from Punjab and Haryana, were flown back aboard a C-17 Globemaster III, arriving at 11:40 p.m.

Sources indicate that another batch of 157 deportees is expected to arrive on Sunday night as part of the ongoing US crackdown on illegal immigration.

Among those deported on Saturday, 67 hail from Punjab, while 33 are from Haryana.

The remaining individuals include eight from Gujarat, three from Uttar Pradesh, two each from Goa, Maharashtra and Rajasthan, and one each from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.

The group comprises four women and two minors, including a six-year-old girl. Most of the deportees are aged between 18 and 30.

This follows a similar repatriation on 5 February, when 104 Indians were sent back from the United States under the same initiative. That group included 33 individuals from Haryana, 33 from Gujarat and 30 from Punjab.

Officials at Amritsar airport said that after clearing security formalities, the deportees were provided food before being transported to their respective home states.

Those from Goa, Gujarat and Maharashtra were scheduled to travel by early morning flights, coordinated by central government authorities.

Meanwhile, individuals from Punjab and Haryana were transported by road, with vehicles stationed at the airport for their onward journey.

The latest deportations highlight a broader crackdown by US authorities on illegal immigration. Over the past year, hundreds of Indian nationals have been detained in the United States for attempting to enter the country unlawfully, often via dangerous routes through Central America. Many have fallen victim to human trafficking networks that exploit their desperation for a better life abroad.
