The US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) is set to host its Annual India Leadership Summit 2024 on October 14 in New Delhi. This important event comes shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s successful visit to the United States for the Sixth Quad Leaders’ Summit and the United Nations General Assembly.
The forum is dedicated to fostering a robust relationship between the two nations by addressing key issues in trade, defence, technology, and more.
USISPF is the only independent non-profit organisation focused solely on strengthening the partnership between the United States and India. The upcoming summit serves as a crucial platform for discussing collaborative opportunities in a range of sectors, including supply chain management, semiconductor investment, artificial intelligence, clean energy, defence, and next-generation technologies. Both countries have reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
The summit is expected to bring together prominent figures, including senior cabinet ministers from India, global business leaders, and policymakers. Key Indian leaders such as Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry; Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education; Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, and other senior officials will be present to lead discussions on expanding cooperation in various fields.
One of the highlights of the event will be a USISPF Board Delegation, led by John Chambers, a leading advocate for the US-India relationship and the founder of JC2 Ventures.
The delegation will include influential leaders from Fortune 500 companies, start-ups, and venture capitalists. Notable business figures, such as Michael Miebach, CEO of Mastercard, Frank St. John, COO of Lockheed Martin, and Ryan Roslansky, CEO of LinkedIn, will also be part of the discussions.
In his remarks, John Chambers emphasised the importance of the US-India partnership, stating that it has never been stronger. According to him, the two countries, as leading democracies, have a unique chance to co-create technologies that will shape the future.
He expressed optimism about how the bilateral ties between Washington and New Delhi can lead to collaboration across sectors like digital transformation, clean energy, and defence. Chambers also highlighted the significance of this century being pivotal for India's rise on the global stage.
The USISPF India Leadership Summit 2024 aims to offer a unique platform for meaningful dialogue between industry and government leaders from both nations.
Mukesh Aghi, President and CEO of USISPF, emphasised that the summit will deepen economic ties and strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
He highlighted how the discussions at the summit will focus on key areas such as fortifying India’s manufacturing economy, rebuilding global supply chains, and enhancing cooperation in critical areas like technology and defence.
The forum’s objectives include promoting bilateral trade, strengthening defence ties, and encouraging cooperation in emerging areas such as AI and semiconductor technologies.
Another crucial topic of discussion will be clean energy solutions, as both India and the United States aim to transition towards more sustainable practices while addressing global challenges related to climate change.
