Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar is set to visit Chandigarh and Mohali on 17th February for a one-day tour, where he will attend multiple events focused on education, entrepreneurship, and skill development.
During his visit, Dhankhar will be the chief guest at the inauguration of the Advanced Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme (A-ESDP) campus at the National Agri-Food and Biomanufacturing Institute (NABI) in Mohali.
The initiative aims to bolster innovation and provide a platform for young entrepreneurs in the agri-food and biomanufacturing sectors.
Later in the day, the Vice-President will interact with faculty members and students at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Mohali.
The session is expected to focus on the future of scientific research, India’s growing role in global innovation, and opportunities for young scientists.
This marks Dhankhar’s second visit to the region in recent months. In December, he attended the Global Alumni Meet at Panjab University in Chandigarh, where his presence led to extensive traffic restrictions.
Authorities had issued an advisory on 21st December, limiting movement on major roads, including Dakshin Marg and Sarovar Path, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Officials have yet to announce any similar restrictions for his upcoming visit. However, given the security measures during his last trip, local authorities may implement diversions to ensure smooth traffic flow. Residents are advised to stay updated on potential advisories closer to the date.
