Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resumed his role as Chairman of the Rajya Sabha on Monday after recovering from a recent cardiac-related treatment.

 

As Parliament reconvened following the Holi break, several leaders from various political parties met him at Parliament House to inquire about his health and extend their best wishes.

 

Upon entering the Rajya Sabha chamber, Dhankhar greeted the members with a “Namaste.” Among those who met him were Leader of the House and Union Minister JP Nadda, along with ministers Kiren Rijiju, L Murugan, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Ashwini Vaishnaw.

 

Other leaders, including Ram Nath Thakur, Shobha Karandlaje, and Manohar Lal Khattar, also called on him. Congress President and Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, was among the senior leaders who personally inquired about his well-being.

Dhankhar was discharged from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on March 12, after being admitted on March 9 due to complaints of uneasiness and chest pain.

 

According to AIIMS, he received necessary medical attention and made a satisfactory recovery. Doctors have advised him to take adequate rest for the next few days.

 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had visited AIIMS on Sunday to check on Dhankhar’s health. In a post on X, PM Modi expressed his prayers for the Vice President’s speedy recovery and well-being.
