In a bid to accommodate the growing number of passengers and manage the extra rush during the festive season, Western Railway has announced the introduction of a superfast special train between Mumbai Central and Bhiwani. Additionally, the frequency of the Bandra Terminus - Udhna Special train has been extended.
The new service, Train No. 09001/09002, will be a bi-weekly superfast special train that will operate between Mumbai Central and Bhiwani. The special train will run on a special fare, ensuring a faster and more comfortable journey for passengers.
According to a statement issued by Vineet Abhishek, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the train details are as follows:
Train No. 09001 Mumbai Central – Bhiwani Superfast Special will depart from Mumbai Central every Tuesday and Friday at 10:30 AM, reaching Bhiwani at 1:00 PM the next day. This train will operate between December 3 and December 17, 2024.
On the other hand, Train No. 09002 Bhiwani – Mumbai Central Superfast Special will leave Bhiwani every Wednesday and Saturday at 2:45 PM, arriving at Mumbai Central at 4:30 PM the following day. This service will run from December 4 to December 18, 2024.
The train will halt at several stations en route to provide better connectivity for passengers. Some of the key stations that the train will stop at include Borivali, Palghar, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ratlam, Mandsor, Nimach, Chittaurgarh, Bhilwara, Bijainagar, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Jaipur, Dausa, Bandikui, Alwar, Rewari, Kosli, and Charkhi Dadri. These halts will be available in both directions.
Passengers will travel in air-conditioned coaches, with the train offering both AC 2-tier and AC 3-tier class options for a comfortable journey. The announcement is part of Western Railway's ongoing efforts to ensure that passengers have access to efficient and reliable travel options during the peak holiday period.
In addition to the Mumbai-Bhiwani superfast special train, the extension of Train No. 09055/09056 Bandra Terminus – Udhna Special train has been announced. Initially scheduled to run only until November 28, the services have now been extended through to December 31.
Train No. 09055, Bandra Terminus to Udhna, will continue to run until the end of December, while Train No. 09056, Udhna to Bandra Terminus, will also be operational till December 31, 2024.
For passengers wishing to book tickets, bookings for Train No. 09001 between Mumbai Central and Bhiwani will open on December 1, 2024. Additionally, bookings for the extended trips of Train No. 09055 and 09056 will be available at all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters, as well as on the IRCTC website.
