Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared India would identify and pursue the perpetrators and masterminds behind Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that left 28 dead, to the ends of the earth to grant them an “unimaginable punishment”. He pledged swift retaliation, stating that India would do anything required to bring the guilty to justice.
Addressing the nation during the National Panchayati Raj Day celebrations in Madhubani, Bihar, PM Modi expressed deep sorrow over the April 22 massacre in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, where terrorists killed 26 innocent people. "The country is in mourning and in pain following this incident," he said. "We stand with the families of the victims."
PM Modi's words carried a stern promise for justice. “From the soil of Bihar, India will identify, track, and punish every terrorist, their handlers, and their backers,” he reiterated saying “We will pursue the killers and hunt them out. India's spirit will never be broken by Terrorism. Terrorism will not go unpunished.”
He also emphasised the unwavering resolve of the nation, saying, “Every effort will be made to ensure that no one dares to repeat such a horrific act of terror. The entire nation is firm in this resolve. Everyone who believes in humanity is on our side.”
In a poignant gesture, the Prime Minister observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect to the victims of the terror attack. “Let us all stand together in this moment of grief and observe a one-minute silence. I urge everyone to observe silence for a couple of minutes to pay homage to the family members whom we lost in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22,” PM Modi said, as he also chanted ‘Om Shanti’.
Launching a scathing attack on those behind the attack, PM Modi warned all such elements of a retaliatory consequences beyond their expectations. "These terrorists and those who conspired towards this attack will get a punishment bigger than they can imagine. The willpower of 140 crore Indians will now break the back of the masters of terror," he added.
PM Modi further said, the entire nation is mourning the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed many innocent lives. People from all corners of India—Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Gujarati, and Bihari—were among the victims.
This attack has shaken the country. It wasn’t just an attack on tourists; it was an attack on India’s unity and peace.
The government stands firmly with the victims’ families and is doing everything to ensure the injured recover. Those behind this act of terror will face a punishment beyond imagination. Terrorism will not be tolerated—India will track and punish every terrorist and their backers, wherever they may be.
