Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that successive weak governments formed in the leadership of Congress had proved unsuccessful in controlling Maoists and terrorists in the country. He said that in his third term, he would act fiercely against the anti-national forces and end the bloodbath in the tribal belt.

Addressing an election campaign rally in the Koderma constituency of Jharkhand on Tuesday, Modi said that the weak governance of Congress threw the country into the fire of Naxalism.

“Naxalism not only caused a lot of damage to the country but also crushed many dreams of my country. Those sons, who were taking up guns in the path of Naxalism, have ruined themselves and destroyed their families. The leftists took advantage of the situation. But, the BJP government put a halt on Maoist violence in the country,” he said.

Modi further said that today the scope of Naxalism has shrunk a lot in the entire country. “And, I guarantee to all the countrymen from the land of Koderma, whether it is terrorism or Naxalism, Modi has resolved to attack them strongly in his third term. Modi will not allow Jharkhand to become a stronghold of Naxalism again. I will not let the lives of the youth be ruined. The entire tribal belt will be free from bloodshed. This is Modi's guarantee,” he said.

The PM said that Modi's mantra is a preference for the deprived. “Mothers and sisters, you will no longer have to hide your pain. Your son is sitting in Delhi. Your son will take care of your treatment. It won't cost you a penny. I will get the treatment done,” he said.

“The dream of the poor is to have a permanent house. I will give a permanent house to every poor person. Till now 4 crore people have been given pucca houses. I will give it to those who are left in the third term. I request that when you go to the village, if you see someone in need of a permanent house, then write down your name and address and send it to me. Tell them that Modi has a guarantee that if he comes for the third time, your house will also be fixed,” said the PM.

He further said that lakhs of families benefited from the free ration scheme. “Today, so many years have passed, 80 crore people are getting free ration… I will not let poor children sleep hungry. In the third term, free ration will continue for the next 5 years,” he promised.
