Speculations are rife that actor Neha Sharma might contest Lok Sabha polls on Congress’s ticket. Her father, Ajit Sharma, who is a Congress MLA from Bihar’s Bhagalpur, has indicated that his daughter might join politics.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Neha’s father Ajit Sharma said that both the party and he wanted Neha to fight in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“My party wanted Neha to contest in the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. I spoke to her regarding the same, but she denied as she was busy with her acting career.” Ajit Sharma said reporters.
He, added, that this time she has expressed her desire to contest the elections.Neha’s father dismissed any claims of ‘parivarvaad’ (dynasty politics) while talking about his wish to pitch his daughter for the upcoming polls.
Neha Sharma made her Bollywood debut in 2010, starring opposite Emran Hashmi in Crook. She has since then acted in multiple films, including Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 in 2013 and Tanhaji in 2020, among others.
