Shivraj Singh Chouhan commences Vidisha LS campaign, takes train journey to 'Karmabhoomi'

Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP candidate Shivraj Singh Chouhan embarked on his campaign for the Vidisha Lok Sabha seat by engaging with passengers on a train journey from Bhopal to Ganjbasoda. Chouhan, 65, is contesting his sixth parliamentary election from Vidisha, a seat previously held by BJP stalwarts Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Sushma Swaraj.

"I have been traveling by train since I was an MP. My heart is full of happiness. I am going to Ganjbasoda, which is my ‘karmabhoomi’ (workplace). I have family relations with the people and I am going again there to meet all of them," Chouhan stated during the journey.

Chouhan, accompanied by his wife Sadhana, interacted with passengers during the journey, including meeting party workers at various stations along the way.

"I have a dilon ka rishta (connection from the heart) with the people of the state. Even if new areas are associated (with Vidisha), it makes no difference as people’s love and trust are with me," Chouhan expressed confidence in his victory.

Chouhan emphasized his dedication to serving the people and the party's mission of national development. "Whatever the party had made me, from MLA to MP and chief minister for 18 years, I have worked for the people day and night. Now, it has asked me to contest as an MP and I will do that to serve the people," he affirmed.

Regarding the opposition, Chouhan criticized the INDIA bloc, stating, "These dynastic, corrupt people with common interests are afraid of Modi ji who has said that he will neither indulge in corruption nor allow others to do it."

Responding to Rahul Gandhi's recent Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Chouhan remarked, "His yatra turned into a ‘Congress Chhodo Yatra’ (leave Congress yatra). I think his mental age is very low."

Chouhan speculated on the future of the Congress party, saying, "Rahul Baba will fulfill this wish of Gandhi ji by finishing the party."

Chouhan's journey by train and his engagement with passengers mark the beginning of his campaign for the Vidisha Lok Sabha seat, a stronghold of the BJP. The Congress is yet to announce its candidate for the constituency.
