Technology is being utilised in the best possible way by the political parties to campaign for the Lok Sabha polls of 2024.
To grab the attention of the passersby, the AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) in Tamil Nadu’s Dharmapuri district has introduced a digital robot to garner support for its candidate Singai Ramachandran.
In a smart move, the robot has been placed outside the Dharmapuri bus terminal, which aims to entice voters towards the party’s candidate for the general elections.
With the help of artificial intelligence, a screen has been attached to the robot. It showcases videos featuring renowned leaders of the party, namely, MG Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa.
The robot also presents footage of Vijayakanth, the renowned actor-politician and founder of the DMDK (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam)— a former ally of the AIADMK.
In an attempt to highlight the party’s esteemed legacy, the measures adopted by the AIADMK in view of the state's development are also being reiterated by the robot. With the help of AI, J Jayalalitha’s photo appears on the screen, where she is asking onlookers to vote in favour of the party’s candidate.
This is not it, the robot is also wearing the party’s shawl and holding a tray where pamphlets bearing every detail of the party’s candidate are mentioned.
People are tempted by this kind of measure adopted by the party. They are sparing time to look at the robot and some are also clicking selfies with it.
The ensuing General Elections will witness voting across all 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu on April 19.
