PM Modi to distribute 51,000 appointment letters today.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will present more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates at the 20th Rozgar Mela on Saturday and interact with them through video conferencing.

 

The employment event will take place simultaneously at 45 locations across the country. The selected candidates will be appointed to different Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, including the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Financial Services and Ministry of Defence.

 

With the latest edition of the Rozgar Mela, the cumulative number of young people receiving appointment letters through the initiative is expected to reach around 12.75 lakh.

 

Union Minister Giriraj Singh will attend the programme as the Chief Guest in Patna, Bihar. Bihar Government Minister Ram Kripal Yadav, Begusarai MLA Kundan Kumar and Kumhrar MLA Sanjay Gupta are also scheduled to be present.

 

A parallel event will be organised at Birla Matushri Hall, Bombay Hospital Trust, Mumbai, under the employment programme of the Department of Revenue, Government of India. Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, will attend the Mumbai programme.

In July, the Centre informed Parliament that more than 12.5 lakh recruitment letters had been issued through Rozgar Melas since the initiative began. The government has also been expanding skill development and employment opportunities for women as part of its focus on women-led development and gender-inclusive growth.

 

The Ministry of Labour and Employment operates the National Career Service (NCS) Portal as a single-window platform for career-related services.

Separately, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has launched the FutureSkills PRIME programme to improve the skills of jobseekers in the information technology sector.
