For the sixth session of negotiations, Union Minister Arjun Munda invited farmer leaders on Wednesday to discuss a range of topics, including the demand for MSP, crop diversification, the stubble issue, and FIR.

Farmers haven't said, though, if they will meet with the government again after rejecting the Center's plan for MSP on five crops for five years.

Twelve police officers were allegedly "seriously injured" during disturbances at the Data Singh-Khanori border, according to a video message sent by the Haryana Police. According to the police the demonstrators encircled the cops from every direction.

"They burned the stubble after adding chili spice to it. They used maces and sticks to attack the police officers. There was also stone-pelting" police said.

Farmers were unimpressed with the government's offer and continued to press the Central government to accept their demands, which included a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP), the implementation of the Swaminathan Commission's recommendations, pensions for farmers and farm laborers, and the waiver of farm debt.

Farmer leaders expressed dissatisfaction with the proposal and stated that they would prefer a legally binding MSP guarantee for all 23 crops, not only pulses, maize, and cotton.

Two umbrella organizations that represent 200 agricultural unions, the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and the Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM), lead the farmers.

"Instead of sending any youth to the front, our leaders lead from the front in peace. Everyone watched how they attacked us, using tear gas shells. Farmers' leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated, "We have never turned down a conversation, but it is not possible to hold discussions in such an environment."
