Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke was detained from his residence in Jhandewalan on Friday as he was preparing to leave for the party’s proposed ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ protest at Connaught Place in Delhi.
More than 20 Delhi Police personnel visited Dipke’s residence earlier in the day and served him a notice. The notice directed him to avoid any action that could prejudice the rights of citizens, traders, commuters, patients and others.
The detention came as security arrangements were intensified across the national capital ahead of the proposed protest.
