Union Home Minister Amit Shah, one of the BJP's star campaigners for the upcoming elections in the J&K, will address three poll rallies in Doda district on the last day of campaigning for the first phase scheduled for September 18.

According to party sources, Shah will address three rallies, one each at Ramban, Kishtwar, and Padder, today (September 16) in support of party candidates.

This will be his second visit within ten days, as was here on September 6 to release the party manifesto.

Apart from Shah’s address to workers, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also addressed public rallies on September 8.

PM Modi on Saturday addressed a massive poll rally in support of the candidates in Doda district.

Shah, who is visiting the Jammu region for the second time within a fortnight, will address three back-to-back rallies to gain support.

While defence Minister Rajnath Singh also spoke at two poll rallies in support of his party candidates in Banihal and Ramban on September 8.

“The Home Minister, during his hectic tour, will address three successive rallies at Ramban, Kishtwar, and Paddar tomorrow,” BJP spokesperson and media centre in-charge Arun Kumar Gupta said.

Strict security measures have been taken for this VVIP visit to the poll-bound region.

Besides Shah, the party’s national president, JP Nadda, is supposed to hold a roadshow in support of his party.

Union minister G Kishen Reddy, who is also the poll in-charge for the UT, said the party will today chalk out a detailed plan for the upcoming road show of the Nadda.

Reddy also told reporters that, Prime Minister Modi will again visit Jammu and Kashmir ahead of phase two of the elections on September 25 and for the third phase scheduled for October 1.

Reddy said, “Seeing the immense response of the people, there should be no doubt in anyone’s mind that the BJP will form the next government in J-K.”
