Mokama MLA Anant Singh Expelled From JDU for Six Years

Mokama MLA Anant Singh has been expelled from the Janata Dal United (JDU) for six years over allegations of anti-party activities. The party has also recommended that his membership of the Bihar Legislative Assembly be cancelled.

Who is Anant Singh?

Anant Singh is a five-time legislator from the Mokama constituency and represents the JDU in the Bihar Legislative Assembly. He is popularly known in the area as “Chhote Sarkar”.

Singh has remained a controversial figure in Bihar politics because of several criminal cases against him, including allegations related to murder, assault and illegal possession of arms.

He was elected in the 2025 Bihar elections and took oath as a legislator while in custody in a murder case. The Patna High Court recently granted him bail in the ongoing Dularchand Yadav murder case.
