Former Karnataka Chief Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Basavaraj Bommai has expressed optimism about the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, foreseeing surprising outcomes from South India in favour of the saffron camp.

Bommai affirmed the presence of a 'Modi wave' across the country, emphasising the eagerness of the entire nation to witness Narendra Modi's return as Prime Minister.

Addressing media persons in Bengaluru, Bommai predicted that South India, particularly Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu, would yield maximum seats for the BJP. He confidently stated that the BJP would secure over 25 seats in Karnataka alone.

Bommai attributed the anticipated success to the widespread confidence in Narendra Modi, citing a pro-BJP and pro-Modi wave stretching from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He anticipated unexpected results in the upcoming parliamentary polls, particularly in South India.

Highlighting disillusionment among the SC-ST communities with the Congress party, Bommai criticised the lack of a quota increase despite the inclusion of many castes in the SC-ST categories. He further alleged that the incumbent Congress government had diverted Rs 11,000 crore of the Special Component Plan (SCP)-Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) meant for Dalits to implement other guarantees and schemes.

As political dynamics intensify in the lead-up to the elections, Bommai's predictions and assertions provide a glimpse into the BJP's expectations for a strong electoral performance, particularly in South India.
