BJP leader Heena Gavit taking a witty swipe at the Indian National Congress, compared the INDI alliance to a cricket team but with 11 captains who are not willing to adopt other players. Initiating the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address, Gavit called the INDIA bloc leaders as the participants of "Big Boss" who are living together under one roof and eyeing the same troffe (referring here to the position of Prime Minister).
The Minister then highlighted the holistic progress India achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding it won't be surprising if the leaders of the INDI alliance would switch flanks "one after the other".
Calling TMC leader Mamata Banerjee West Bengal's "captain", Gavit said she is unintended to make Congress part of her team. Similarly, she said, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal is the captain of Punjab and is treating Congress as the 12th member of the team.
Gavit, who represents Nandurbar (Maharashtra) in the Lok Sabha seemed to be confident about people once again voting for PM Modi in the forthcoming parliamentary elections, further counting that his government will present a full-fledged Union Budget in the coming days.
It was remarkable to note, she said, that a woman president addressed the joint sitting of the two Houses on January 31 and the next day a woman finance minister presented an interim Budget.
Gavit then added that now she, a woman MP who represents a tribal area, was moving the motion to thank the president for her address.
The youth of today should not be a job seeker but a job creator and job givers, and the government is working on that, she affirmed.
Hitting out at Congress, she said while on the one hand, it attacks corporate leaders, one of its chief ministers signs an agreement with those very corporate leaders to ensure jobs for youth in their state. She was referring to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
This shows the dual character of Congress, she said, adding that "Viksit Bharat" is not the philosophy of a party but of the people of India, she added.
