The newly formed Cockroach Janata Party staged a protest at Golden Gate in Amritsar on Saturday, with party founder Abhijeet Dipke accusing the Centre of neglecting student concerns and demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Addressing supporters, Dipke alleged that flaws in the education system and mounting academic pressure had adversely affected students across the country. He called on young people to unite and raise their voices for their rights.
The protest, which drew a gathering of students and activists, was held under police supervision with security arrangements in place. Dipke warned that if concrete action is not taken on student-related issues, the party would intensify its campaign with a nationwide movement planned later this month.
The demonstration comes amid growing political attention on the activities of the CJP, which has recently expanded its presence through protests in multiple cities.“Prime Minister Narendra Modi will have to choose whether students are more important to him or an "incompetent" and "failed" minister”, Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke said on Saturday at the protest in Amritsar as part of its nationwide campaign seeking Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation.
"We will all go to Delhi on June 20 and camp there till the time Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Do not be afraid to go to jail. When I returned to India from the US, I too thought that I would be put behind bars."The main objective is to provide justice to NEET and CBSE students. Accountability must be fixed. Paper leaks can't go on," Dipke told the gathering.
CJP protest in Amritsar was part of the party’s ongoing campaign advocating reforms in India’s education system, greater transparency in examinations, and stronger accountability for issues affecting students
According to CJP founder and organiser Abhijeet Dipke, the demonstration is intended to remain peaceful, and participants have been urged to maintain appropriate behaviour throughout the event. Similar protests were earlier held in Delhi, Pune and Lucknow."The main objective is to provide justice to NEET and CBSE students. Accountability must be fixed. Paper leaks can't go on," Dipke told the gathering.
