“The battle against the Maoists is in its last phase in the state.” Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Sunday stated this while speaking to mediapersons at Jharkhand Jaguar headquarters in Ranchi.

The Chief Minister and Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of jawan, Sunil Dhan, who was killed in an IED explosion in the West Singhbhum district on Saturday.

A wreath-laying ceremony was held in honour of the deceased jawan at the Jaguar headquarters in Ranchi.

The Chief Minister said "The fight against the naxals is in its final stage. We lost many jawans during the anti-naxal operation. It’s because of their sacrifice, we are moving towards a successful operation.”

He said the operation against the naxals would succeed and the jawan's sacrifice would not go in vain.

The Governor stated that, "It was an unfortunate incident. The state government is continuously working to minimise such incidents. The government will take care of the martyred's family.”

The Jharkhand Jaguar jawan, Sunil Dhan, along with another CRPF Jawan Vishnu Saini were injured in an IED blast during an anti-naxal operation in West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand, on Saturday.

Both jawans were airlifted to Ranchi for better treatment. However, Sunil lost his life while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Ranchi while Saini’s condition is stated to be critical.
