Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh and ministers from the Congress quota in the state government have been called to Delhi for an important meeting with the party’s central leadership, today.
Notably, the developments have come after five legislators of the party have recently visited Delhi and met party senior leaders KC Venugopal and Mallikarjun Kharge to complain about the working style of Congress quota ministers in the state. The meeting will be held at the residence of the Congress national president and will focus on the party’s political strategy and priorities in Jharkhand.
The high-level meeting will be attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and party General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal. Senior leaders will deliberate on the current political situation in the state and chalk out future organisational and electoral strategies.
Sources said that the meeting will also take up grievances recently raised by several Congress MLAs. It is learnt that ministers may be questioned regarding the complaints, particularly allegations of neglecting legislators and not giving due priority to their concerns.
Following these complaints, the party high command had directed Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Congress in-charge K. Raju to look into the matter and hold discussions with the concerned leaders.
The meeting will be attended by Congress in-charge K. Raju, JPCC President Keshav Mahato Kamlesh, Leader of the Congress Legislature Party Pradeep Yadav, Deputy Leader Rajesh Kachhap, ministers Radhakrishna Kishore, Irfan Ansari, Deepika Pandey Singh and Shilpi Neha Tirkey.
MPs, senior leaders and former state Congress presidents are also expected to be present.
