Five Congress legislators from Jharkhand, dissatisfied with the functioning of party ministers, have raised the issue before senior Congress leaders in Delhi.
The legislators — Rajesh Kachhap, Bhushan Bara, Naman Vixal Kongari, Sonaram Sinku and Suresh Baitha — first met Jharkhand Congress in-charge K Raju at Indira Bhawan and later held discussions with Congress general secretary and organisational affairs in-charge KC Venugopal.
They also lodged a formal complaint with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on the matter.
During the meetings, the MLAs flagged the delay in the formation of boards and corporations in the state, even after one year of the government’s formation, and demanded immediate action.
They also conveyed their displeasure over the performance of ministers from the Congress quota in the Jharkhand government.
The Congress ministers in the state include Dr Irfan Ansari, Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Deepika Pandey Singh and Radhakrishna Kishore. Deputy leader of the Congress Legislature Party and MLA Rajesh Kachhap said the legislators were not beneficiaries of political lineage.
“We understand organisational pain better. Our priority is the organisation, and MLAs are not satisfied with the ministers’ functioning. Their performance should be reviewed, and reshuffling should be considered if required,” he said.
MLA Naman Vixal Kongari described the visit as a “normal interaction” with the party leadership, stating that organisational issues and concerns arising after the implementation of the PESA rules were discussed.
MLA Suresh Baitha said most of the discussions with senior leaders revolved around organisational matters, though the issue of ministers was also raised.
The development indicates growing internal concerns within the Jharkhand Congress over governance and organisational coordination ahead of future political challenges.
