Hooda promises reforms for Haryana workers

"Congress freed the traders from inspectors and hooliganism, but BJP protected the criminals and got the traders shot at. Congress made Haryana the number one state in the country in terms of per capita income, per capita investment, and employment, while BJP made it number one in unemployment, crime, and drug addiction," he added.

Hooda promises reforms for Haryana workers

Bhupinder Singh Hooda criticises BJP in Haryana, touts Congress achievements.

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda launched a scathing attack on the BJP government in Haryana, accusing it of neglecting farmers, youth, and the economy. Addressing a workers' conference in Charkhi Dadri, Hooda said the Congress party had a proven track record of supporting farmers, providing loan waivers, electricity bill waivers, and MSP, whereas the BJP had given them "lathis, canes, and bullets".

Hooda also criticised the BJP's handling of the economy, saying it had made Haryana number one in unemployment, crime, and drug addiction, whereas the Congress had made it number one in per capita income, investment, and employment.

"After seeing the tenure of Congress for 10 years and BJP for 10 years, the people of Haryana should compare the work of both the governments and vote for the party that performed better in the assembly on this basis. Congress gave permanent jobs to soldiers, but the BJP gave them contract systems like Kaushal Nigam and Agniveer. Congress made the youth of the state sportspersons, but BJP made them drug addicts. Congress made sportsperson daughters, who brought glory to the country, but BJP got those daughters harassed by its leaders," he said.

He promised that a Congress government would provide permanent jobs, free electricity, gas cylinders, and health insurance, among other benefits.

State Congress President Chaudhary Udaibhan also addressed the conference, calling for unity and promising to give tickets to strong candidates who work hard on the ground. He slammed the BJP for its "fake announcements" and said the public would not fall into its trap.

The conference was attended by senior leaders, including Rao Dan Singh, and was seen as a show of strength for the Congress party in the run-up to the assembly elections."
