INLD-BSP forge alliance for Haryana assembly polls

A meeting was held regarding the alliance between INLD leader Abhay Chautala, and BSP supremo Mayawati.

The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) have announced a new alliance for the upcoming Haryana Assembly elections. The two parties, which previously partnered together, will work together to contest the election, with the BSP running candidates in 37 of the 90 assembly seats and the INLD running in the remaining seats.

According to INLD leader Abhay Chautala, the alliance is not driven by self-interest, but rather a desire to serve the people and empower weaker sections of society. Chautala stated that the partnership aims to oust the ruling BJP from power and prevent the Congress party from returning to power, citing the BJP's desire to win a third consecutive term and the Congress's history of corruption in the state.

The alliance was solidified after a meeting between BSP supremo Mayawati and Chautala, according to BSP national coordinator Akash Anand.

This partnership marks a reconciliation between the two parties, which previously had a falling out in February 2019 due to a feud within the Chautala family. The INLD and BSP are now united in their goal to represent the people of Haryana and address their concerns.
