As the political row has erupted in UT of J&K, the Senior BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Sunil Sharma on Sunday said that the party will fight ‘backdoor outsourcing’ of jobs from streets to Legislature.

Sunil Sharma on Sunday alleged that the National Conference government is legitimising the outsourcing system and backdoor appointments, asserting that government jobs should be filled through a transparent and merit-based recruitment process.BJP leader said the outsourcing system has emerged as a major political flashpoint in Jammu and Kashmir, with government departments engaging manpower through private agencies instead of filling vacancies through regular recruitment channels.

The party alleged that the practice reduces opportunities for educated youth seeking government employment through competitive examinations and established recruitment agencies.Clarifying its stand, the BJP said it is not opposed to employment generation but strongly objects to the government’s growing reliance on outsourcing arrangements.

“There should be a proper recruitment mechanism where educated youth get jobs on the basis of their ability and talent,” Sharma said.the issue as one that directly affects thousands of unemployed youth, he said the BJP would continue to raise the matter at every available forum and press for a transparent and equitable recruitment framework.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an International Yoga Day event organised by the BJP Kashmir unit at Municipal Park Srinagar, Sharma, said  criticised what he termed the “backdoor appointment and outsourcing system,” alleging that such practices deprive deserving youth of equal opportunities. He said the BJP strongly opposes any recruitment process that does not follow proper procedures and would continue raising the issue at all forums.

“The youth of Jammu and Kashmir deserve jobs through transparent recruitment policies. We will continue to fight for their rights,” he said. Responding to a question regarding employment generation in Jammu and Kashmir, Sharma said there was no dispute over the fact that jobs had been provided, but maintained that employment opportunities should be created through a transparent and merit-based recruitment process. He said educated youth who work hard and prepare for jobs expect fair recruitment mechanisms where appointments are made on the basis of merit and talent.
