General Secretary of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and elder daughter-in-law of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha chief Shibu Soren, Sita Soren today joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in Delhi with her two daughters.
Sita resigned from JMM and membership of Jharkhand Assembly on Tuesday morning and reached BJP national headquarters in Delhi around 2.30 pm.
She took the membership of BJP in the presence of Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde and Jharkhand in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee.
Along with Sita Soren, her two daughters Rajshree and Jayshree have also taken membership of Bharatiya Janata Party. BJP national media co-head Sanjay Mayukh was also present on the occasion.
After taking membership of BJP, Sita Soren said that She has also decided to become a member of Modi 's family. “My father-in-law Shibu Soren and husband late Durga Soren shed blood and sweat for a separate Jharkhand state, but even after 24 years, the state is far away from development. Today, I am leaving the great family of JMM and joining the great family of Modi,” he said.
“I am impressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's thinking towards the country and the world. A lot of development work is happening in the country. Leaders like JP Nadda, Amit Shah and Devendra Fadnavis are busy day and night drawing the blueprint for the development of the country. Election time has come.
Information is being received from all over the country that people are expressing confidence in the candidates of Bharatiya Janata Party. Seeing the faith and trust of people towards this huge family, I decided to join it,” she said.
Sita further said, “I have struggled a lot in Jharkhand. I was in Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for 14 years. Jharkhand became a separate state under the leadership of father-in-law, Shibu Soren and husband late Durga Soren. His dream was to develop Jharkhand. He worked very hard and made an organisation. He fought to protect water, forest and land but his fight remained incomplete.”
“Late Durga Soren wanted me to enter politics, become an MLA or MP, serve the people, but this could not happen due to his untimely death. I came into politics to fulfil his dream. Twenty four years have passed since the formation of Jharkhand, but we have not reached where we wanted to reach. The tribals and natives remained neglected. The state has 40 per cent of the country's minerals, yet people are wandering in search of employment. Migration is taking place. The public is also in the mood for change now. Jharkhand has to be saved,” she said.
Soren said that together we have to save Jharkhand, Jharkhandi and Jharkhandiyat.
“This is my aim. We have to provide justice to the people of the state. We all will work together to realise the vision of PM Modi. Whatever my husband had planned will be fulfilled. I have joined the BJP with a very big purpose. We will not let Jharkhand bow down. We will save Jharkhand. We will win all 14 Lok Sabha seats,” she said.
