Kangana Ranaut, an actor and politician, expressed her disapproval of those who are praising the CISF woman constable accused of slapping her. She questioned whether these individuals would also condone acts such as rape or murder.
In a video message, Ranaut claimed that she was struck in the face and verbally abused by the constable while undergoing a security check at the Chandigarh airport.
"If you are aligned with the criminals strong emotional impulse to commit a crime violating all laws of the land.
"Remember if you are ok with breaking in to someone's intimate zone, without their permission touching their bodies and assaulting them then deep down you are ok with rape or murder also because that's also just penetration or stab only what big deal, you must look deeper in to your psychological criminal tendencies (sic)," the 37-year-old posted on X.
In a video statement, Ranaut mentioned that she was physically assaulted and verbally abused by a CISF constable during a security check at the Chandigarh airport. The constable seemed displeased with the actor's position on the farmer protests.
The altercation occurred just two days after she was elected to the Lok Sabha from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
Kulwinder Kaur, the accused CISF personnel, has been suspended, and an investigation has been initiated. The CISF, which is responsible for airport security, has also initiated a formal inquiry into the incident.
In her most recent social media post, Ranaut also recommended that people embrace yoga and meditation to avoid a bitter and burdensome life experience.
"Don't carry so much grudge, hate and jealousy please , free yourself," the actor added.
Earlier on Saturday, Ranaut found support from cinema veteran Shabana Azmi, who said security officials should not take the law into their own hands.
In a post on X, Azmi said though she has "no love lost" for Ranaut, she wouldn't join people who are celebrating the "slap".
"I have no love lost for Kangana Ranaut. But I can't find myself joining this chorus of celebrating 'the slap'. If security personnel start taking the law into their hands, none of us can be safe," Azmi wrote.
Azmi's husband, screenwriter and lyricist, Javed Akhtar, has initiated legal action against Ranaut for her statements claiming that he had intimidated her. The legal proceedings are ongoing.
