KTR questions Revanth's loyalty towards Telangana

In a strongly worded statement, KTR argued that it is a disgrace for a Chief Minister — who also manages the Home portfolio — to openly encourage anti-social behaviour and criminal acts.

The political climate in Telangana has taken a sharp turn as BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) lashed out at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for allegedly inciting violence. KTR’s remarks came after the Chief Minister reportedly called for the destruction of BRS flag posts and platforms, a move the opposition leader described as more characteristic of a "gang leader" than a head of state.

In a strongly worded statement, KTR argued that it is a disgrace for a Chief Minister — who also manages the Home portfolio — to openly encourage anti-social behaviour and criminal acts. He reminded the public that under Bharat Rashtra Samithi governance, Telangana was recognised for having some of the best law and order in the country. KTR has now called on the Director General of Police (DGP) to take immediate action against Revanth Reddy, pointing out the irony that the police frequently arrest citizens for minor social media posts while a top official can allegedly call for vandalism with impunity.

Rama Rao did not stop at local issues, indicating a deeper political conspiracy. He claimed Reddy is a Congress leader in name only, while his loyalties remain with the Telugu Desam Party. KTR alleged that this split loyalty has already hurt Telangana’s interests, particularly regarding river water sharing, and suggested that Reddy is looking for an escape route as the Congress party’s influence supposedly wanes.

Adding to the fire, former minister T Harish Rao also weighed in, characterising Revanth Reddy’s entire career as one defined by treachery and betrayal. Harish Rao pulled no punches, claiming that the Chief Minister has a history of working against Telangana activists and was famously caught "red-handed" in a cash-for-votes scandal while acting on behalf of Chandrababu Naidu.

Harish Rao further questioned the Chief Minister's political integrity, asking how he can profess a "secret friendship" with the Bharatiya Janata Party while being part of a Congress party that opposes them nationally. He concluded by asking the DGP to clarify whether the state is being governed by the Indian Constitution or a new, lawless "Revanth Constitution," warning that a call to demolish political platforms is a direct assault on the state's law and order.
