Lok Sabha elections stir Kerala as alleged business connections between Jayarajan family and Chandrasekhar cause tension

Amidst the fervor of the Lok Sabha election campaign in Kerala, accusations have surfaced regarding a potential business partnership between the ruling LDF convener E P Jayarajan's family and BJP leader Rajeev Chandrasekhar's company, leading to heightened tensions in the political arena.

In the midst of these allegations, an FIR was filed against a local Congress leader following a complaint by Jayarajan's wife, accusing the leader of morphing her photographs. Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly V D Satheesan added to the turmoil by leveling fresh accusations against Jayarajan.

Jayarajan responded by accusing Satheesan of engaging in "dirty politics" and manipulating images, which the opposition leader vehemently denied.

The exchange intensified as Satheesan pointed to admissions by Jayarajan regarding his family's business relationship with Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

Satheesan emphasized that Jayarajan's acknowledgment of his wife's shares in a resort linked to a company owned by Chandrasekhar validates his earlier claims.

Chandrasekhar, however, questioned the interpretation of this business connection as indicative of a CPI(M)-BJP alliance. Satheesan countered by presenting photographs, released by Chandrasekhar's company, allegedly depicting Jayarajan's family members with the management of Chandrasekhar's firm.

In response to allegations of spreading morphed photographs, Jayarajan's wife lodged a police complaint against a Trivandrum DCC member. An FIR has been registered under various sections of the IPC, although Satheesan denies involvement with the disputed images.
