Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi advised all the ministers taking oaths on Sunday to maintain humility, as common people admire those who are humble. He also emphasized the importance of upholding integrity and transparency.
During his meeting with the ministers-designate, Modi pointed out that the public has high expectations, and it is crucial for everyone to fulfil their responsibilities.
On Sunday, he will take the oath for a third consecutive term as prime minister alongside the members of his council.
"Whatever work will be assigned to you, do that sincerely and be humble as people love those who are humble," Modi conveyed to the group, which included senior ministers in the outgoing government and newcomers.
According to the sources, the prime minister-elect also urged them to show respect and honour to all Members of Parliament, regardless of their affiliations, as they were all chosen by the public.
He emphasised that the appointed ministers should consistently be polite and appreciate the government staff and officials.
"Work as a team and with team spirit ... You can't compromise on probity and transparency. Be mindful of that," he said at the meeting over tea, a custom he has followed before the Cabinet formation exercise since 2014.
Senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Nirmala Sitharaman, and Mansukh Mandaviya, attended the meeting at the prime minister's residence.
Manohar Lal Khattar, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and Ravneet Singh Bittu, who are likely to be inducted into the Council of Ministers, were also present at the meeting.
