Mohan Yadav was sworn in as the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh here today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP national president J.P. Nadda, and former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan attended the swearing-in ceremony at the Lal Parade Ground. Along with CM Yadav, Jagdish Devda and Rajendra Shukla took charge as the deputy chief ministers of the state.
Prior to taking the oath, Yadav also visited the state BJP office to pay homage to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, one of the founding members of the Jana Sangh and BJP’s founding ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
Yadav was unanimously elected as the BJP legislative party leader. Coming from the Other Backward Classes (OBC) community, Yadav previously served as a minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan administration. The percentage of OBCs accounts for over 48 in the state. He has been a Member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly since 2013.
After winning the assembly seats, the newly elected CM of Madhya Pradesh said, “This the victory of more than 13 thousand votes is dedicated with full humility to every person of my area, every dear sister, every godlike worker of BJP and the organisation of BJP. Thank you, thank you, and gratitude to everyone for your immense affection, immense love, and blessings”
