The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to convene a meeting of its national council from February 16-18. The meeting will aim to energize its cadre and set the agenda for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, anticipated in April-May.
The national council, being the BJP's largest national body, is expected to draw over 8,000 party members from various regions, as cited by the sources. The gathering is likely to take place at Bharat Mandapam, a high-quality convention center that hosted the G20 Summit last year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president J P Nadda, and most Union ministers and state organisation leaders are among the members of the council.
A similar council meeting was held before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
